Q: Is this fellowship program virtual or will scholars be camped in a learning environment?

A: The Social Sector Fellowship program will be virtual for the first seven month of fellowship. Scholars will learn from their respective location through the selected medium. However, the 8th - 10th month for practicum will have each scholar physically interning in an organization.

Q: How long is the Social Sector Fellowship Program?

A: The Social Sector Fellowship is a 12-month fellowship program.

Q: I am currently a Youth Service Corps Member, can I apply for this fellowship program?

A: Yes. Applicants currently undergoing their one year National Youth Service program can apply for the Social Sector Fellowship Program. Such applicants will be requested to upload his/her NYSC call-up letter in the course of application.

Q: I have over 5 years work experience but I would like to undergo this fellowship program to give me an edge in gaining entrance into the development sector. Is my years of work experience not a barrier already?

A: The maximum number of years of work experience considered for the Social Sector Fellowship Program is 3 years post graduation from the university. However, the organization is currently working on a Conversion Fellowship Program for employees with more than 4 years of work experience. This will be made available as it launches.

Q: The area of speciality I want is not listed under the SSF program. Can I request for a different Speciality outside the listed ones?

A: No. The specialities to be studied under the Social Sector Fellowship Program are carefully selected to map out and cover the core knowledge areas in the development sector. You can check the specialities here.

Q: Can I apply for 2 different specialities in my fellowship application?

A: No. Each scholar is only allowed to make one speciality selection

Q: Can I request a topic from another speciality?

A: No. Each speciality has carefully designed and selected course contents and topics that will equip the scholars with the best skill set required for their chosen speciality in the development sector.
